If You Value Your Phone, Don't Get This Game

February 1, 2014 James Saye

A new game has shot to the top of the App Store, and it will make you throw your phone. The game, called Flappy Bird, is an arcade style game in which you must tap the screen to make a little bird fly higher. The aim is to get through as many obstacles as possible but it's insanely frustrating and will probably end in you throwing your phone at a wall.

Flappy Birds is available now on iOS and Android.

Today's event by Facebook was to introduce a new feature to Instagram - Video. Users will now be able to record 15 seconds of video from with in the Instagram app, in a similar fashion to Vine. Instragram iOS App Update

The new feature is slightly more fiddly as you have to press the video icon to then switch to video rather than doing it the snapchat way where you simply hold down the photo button. Each segment that's recorded can be individually deleted and there is a great stabilisation feature.

In true Instagram fashion you can add filters to your finished video to give it a different look. Videos can be viewed on Instagram web too.

During the event Kevin Systrom, the co-founder of Instagram announced that there are now 130 million active users of the photo sharing network with 16 billion photos uploaded in the two and half years since it's launch.

Instagram video is available now on iOS and Android. Simply update the Instagram app.

Twitter's new look

September 18, 2012 James Saye

Twitter have been busy working away on a new profile design and their creation was released today. They're given everybodies Twitter profiles a new look where users can set a header image - much like Facebook's cover photo. It should be interesting to see how creative people get with this new space, there were some excellent Facebook cover photos doing the rounds soon after that launched. They not only updated twitter.com but also their Android and iOS apps, bringing them all in line with a similar look and feel. The new header images also show on the apps as well as an enhanced image feed.

So far the reaction to these updates has been extremely positive. I personally think they're brilliant. What are your views?

Have you seen any cool header images? Comment with a link.
