After a report released by the Data Commissioner of Ireland, Facebook has removed it's facial-recognition feature from the social network. It appears that the main concern was the privacy of users and receiving permission from users before they're tagged using the feature.
Although this was quite a popular feature with users and did not receive many complaints Facebook decided to temporarily remove the feature to all European users until they can conform to guidelines set out by the Data Commissioner.
It is expected that Facebook will bring the feature back to the social network within a month or so.
